国際シンポジウム「気候変動とエネルギー:石炭火力発電の問題に迫る」International Symposium: Climate Change and Coal (May 29th, 2015)

今年、気候変動枠組条約第21回締約国会議(COP21)がフランス・パリで開催され、2020年以降の世界の気候変動対策の枠組みに合意が目指されます。各国には低炭素社会への道筋を描き、大胆に行動することが求められています。

気候変動と関連の深いエネルギー問題について、日本では、福島第一原発事故後、4年間も方針が定まらず混迷が続いてきました。国内の再生可能エネルギーの普及はまだ小さい一方で、温室効果ガスを大量排出する石炭火力発電については、国内・海外で強力に推進されています。

これから日本はどのようなエネルギー社会を構築していくのでしょうか?そして、日本は、海外の気候変動対策やエネルギーのためにどのように貢献するべきなのでしょうか?

国際シンポジウム「気候変動とエネルギー:石炭火力発電の問題に迫る」では、気候変動、エネルギー関連の第一線で活躍している専門家を国内外よりお迎えし、 第1部では日本のエネルギー政策について、第2部では日本の海外での石炭火力発電事業に対する支援について取り上げ、今後の日本の展望を探ります。

Concept This symposium aims to gain insight from leading experts on climate change and coal-fired thermal energy, share their vast knowledge and experiences, and encourage discussion on Japan’s role in this field.

The first session will focus on the role of coal thermal power as an electricity source in Japan while the second session focuses on financing of overseas coal-fired thermal energy projects.
