Introduction

RIMG0093

This project urges the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) to stop using tax money and public funds to finance coal-fired power plants which have a huge negative impact on the the livelihoods of people all over the world as well as the environment.

Public financial institutes in select countries have started to end their financial support for coal-fired power plants around the world.

It is also necessary for Japan to follow this trend by ending it’s financing  of coal-fired power plants which can have damaging effects on the environment and the livelihoods of locals and move towards greener energy financing.

This project is organized by the Japan Center for a Sustainable Environment and Society (JACSES), FoE Japan and Kiko Network. It is in-cooperation with Oxfam Japan, Greenpeace Japan, Sierra Club and WWF Japan.
